Our Senior Rep Program, Simplified

February 07, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

Have you ever heard of a Senior Representative program? You can head on over here to get all the specifics and details, but here's the basic idea:

We're looking for a few high school students in the Pierce County area to represent our senior portrait photography. If we choose you, we'll give you a free, 2-hour photo session, as well as some great ways to show off your photos. We'll even give a cash reward for each session that books as a result of your recommendation.

And really, that's it. Pretty simple, right?

On the official application page, we talk a bit more about who we're looking for. But really, we want students who are engaged, and we want to show this in your photos. This is your big chance to really dig into your hobbies, interests, and personality to get some amazing shots. Are you a snowboarder? Let's head up to the slopes. Bookworm? Let's head to an old bookstore! Minecraft addict? Okay, that one might be a bit more difficult, but I've been known to chop a creeper or two.

The most important thing is that you take ownership of these photos. More than anything else, we want to get images that you're proud to show off. That doesn't mean you need a perfect creative vision—that's what we're here for. But the best photo sessions happen when we work with people who are as excited about their photos as we are.

Parents, I'm sure you've got questions too. Again, more of the details can be found over on the application page, but here's the basics of what you need to know:

We don't work with anyone without parental approval. Before any agreements are made, we (the photographers, the teen, and the parents) sit down at a coffee shop and talk. We talk about what we're looking for, we do a bit of interviewing, and we give you the chance to ask any questions you may have.

Should we all agree to work together, you'll be the one signing the contract. Your son or daughter will agree to work as a senior rep only for Jason Comerford Photography, and we'll have a full model release allowing us to use their image for advertising purposes. Our advertising usually includes blog posts, social media, and printed example albums. Pretty standard stuff, but we're happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have.

Finally, we're not looking for your student to turn into a marketing rep. It's true, this is a business, and we want more seniors to book with us. But the kind of attention we want is the kind that comes from having amazing photos and an enjoyable experience. We believe that we benefit the most when our clients walk away thrilled and happy with their experience. This is our goal and what's at the heart of our program.

Think you'd like working with us? Head on over to the Senior Rep Program page, read through the details, and send us your application. We're looking forward to hearing from you!
