Dandelions & Little Girls

Sometimes, life being the way it is, things take time. A LOT of time. Especially when you have three little girls, like the McKenzie family.

This session was purchased as a baby shower gift for Isaac and Rebekah. Our good friend Jackie knew that Rebekah would love some professional photos of her little girls, so she and some friends gifted Rebekah with a one-hour family session. This was before their youngest, Grace, was born.

Grace is now on her feet, laughing, giggling, crawling, even taking her first steps with daddy's help! It's hard to believe it's been nearly a year, but it was absolutely worth the wait. In this session, we were able to celebrate not just the family, but also Isaac and Rebekah's anniversary. It was a lot of fun, and despite feeling a bit shy early on, the girls quickly warmed upespecially when they saw dandelions.

What little girl doesn't like dandelions? We shot this session mostly in an alley in downtown Puyallup, where dandelions were growing in every crack of ground. These girls wanted to share their yellow flowers with the world, including the strangers taking breaks behind their stores. At one point, while I was working with Isaac and Rebekah, a large truck barreled into the alley and a large, rather intimidating man came out, swinging an electric guitar onto his back. Natalie, the oldest, ran right up to him and offered him dandelions. After staring a moment, he took one dandelion, looked over at us, and said, "Isn't she the cutest thing?"

Yeah, we think so. Although her sisters might be just as cute. Take a look at these posed and behind-the-scenes photos and see if you agree.

How long has it been since you've had family photos? Is your newborn now toddling? Don't wait to capture your kids' cuteness. Contact us today to schedule your next family session!
