The Best of Both Worlds: Ransom's Senior Session

I'm finding myself enjoying working with seniors more and more.

To be sure, I never disliked working with seniors, not at all! But as we're getting into our busy season for senior photos, I'm finding that the seniors I work with tend to be a cross section of what I like about working with younger folks and what I like about working with adults.

Adults? Adults can follow directions really well. They can understand what I'm saying. Communicating a vision to adults is a great deal easier than with children. And it does wonders for your photo session when you're patient enough to take photos for more then four minutes at a time!

And kids? Well, they have a lot of joy and energy, as well as a bit of a whimsical spirit that's a lot of fun to work with. Kids are more ready to laugh and embrace a certain kind of silliness.

The high school seniors I work with tend to be a pretty fun cross of both these qualities. and Ransom was no different. Hannah and I met with Ransom and her mother at Fort Steilacoom Park for her two-hour senior session in August. We chatted about reading books, her future plans as a veterinarian in the military, and some of her favorite fairy tales from childhood. In those two hours, we were able to get a feel for her personality, cycle through three outfits, and get some fun and beautiful images. It was a fun, relaxed session, well worth waking up early on a Saturday morning!

Do you have a high school senior who still needs senior portraits? Many school yearbooks have a deadline in December, so now is a fantastic time to schedule a portrait session. Contact us today to book your date!
