Looking Back: Alex & Julie's Wedding

January 09, 2014  •  1 Comment

Howdy everyone!

Today I thought we'd look back at one our favorite weddings from last summer. Alex and Julie's wedding was on a beautiful, sunny day at the lovely Cedar Springs. The venue is, without a doubt, one of my favorite places to shoot. The venue is simply stunning, made up of a series of small islands connected by gorgeous wooden bridges. The physical separation between ceremony, reception, and entrance islands creates a dramatic flair for every arrival, from first look to send-off. You couldn't ask for a more unique and beautiful place for photos.

Another thing that made this wedding beautiful was Julie and her mother's collection of Julie's favorite ideas from Pinterest. Now, I know we've all been to those weddings that clearly overdo it—mixing ideas that don't work together and mashing together confusing themes. Not this wedding, however. The day was beautiful, tasteful, and expertly designed. From dancing to s'mores, they had clearly set up their reception with all ages of guests in mind. And to top it all, Alex and Julie were a lot of fun to be around!

Have a look, you'll see what I mean.

Check out our blog in the weeks to come as we highlight more of last year's weddings!
